When Amanda heard that there was a emaciated, abandoned dog in the mountains of Evans Creek, Washington, she took immediate action. She and her friend Dylan were determined to find the poor dog. For over an hour, Amanda and Dylan tried to lure the dog with food and treats, but their plan failed.
When they returned the next day, they saw the dog in the same spot. They tried again to entice him, but to no avail. Then the two girls had a brilliant idea. They decided that Amanda should lie on the ground and pretend to be „dead“ in order to appear as though she needed help. The next day, Amanda lay on the ground near the bar. And what happened two hours later warmed the hearts of thousands of animal lovers around the world.
It all started when someone near a campsite in Evans Creek, Washington, saw a dog. The dog looked malnourished and frightened. When the person tried to approach, the dog became aggressive. A few days later, a young woman named Amanda heard about the dog, who had been given the nickname Bear. Amanda and her friend Dylan decided to rescue Bear and take him to an animal clinic. They tried to lure him with treats—but to no avail. He was too distrustful of people to approach them. So Amanda chose a somewhat different strategy. She curled up in the fetal position and pretended to be dead.
Shortly after, Bear approached her and seemed to want to help. He walked up to Amanda and sniffed her for 20 minutes before walking away. But Amanda didn’t get up to leave. An hour later, Bear came back and simply sat next to Amanda. Over the next two hours, Amanda managed to gain Bear’s trust, who seemed to understand that there was no danger. Bear followed Amanda to her car and was taken to the vet.
In the end, Bear was able to receive the urgent help he needed from two amazing women who refused to give up on him. Lost & Found Pets WA State, an animal welfare organization, tried to locate the dog’s owner but was unsuccessful. Fortunately, a family stepped up and adopted Bear, so he now lives happily in a loving home. Did Bear’s rescue story touch you as well? Share it with your friends! Animal Bible Edition. Click „Like.“
