Maternal instinct is always very beautiful to observe. A feeling that usually occurs at the birth of your offspring, but which sometimes appears at moments when you do not expect it. This is the case of Ginger, who surprised her owner with her altruism towards kittens in need of affection.
Susan Hicks is the proud owner of Ginger, a rescue dog she adopted 4 years ago. At the time, Ginger had puppies that she took very good care of. Their departure for new adventures with loving families terribly upset the young mother.
Susan also volunteers for a feline welfare association. So she adopts kittens with a painful past into her home that require care until they are old enough to be adopted. And since 2018, Ginger has been helping her as a chef in her mission.
Susan didn’t expect such cuteness from Ginger. As soon as she sees the new ones arriving, she jumps for joy and starts protecting them. “Ginger is like a living, breathing, snoring pillow for these kittens,” Susan said.
So little cats in need of petting find the comfort they so desperately need from their foster dog mother. They cuddle up to her to take a nap and willingly pull her by the ears, while the dog does not show a drop of irritation.
