For the sake of her dream, she sold everything she had. Now she lives on a cruise ship, sees the world and enjoys life.
The woman spent all her savings and sold all her possessions in Florida to spend the rest of her life traveling uninterrupted. Exactly seven years. That’s how long Lee Wachtsätter has lived on a Crystal Serenity cruise ship.
The pensioner admits that she has never regretted her decision over all these years. The American loved to travel all her life. Her first cruise took place in 1962.
Now she continues her 283rd trip. Each year Mrs. Lee spends thousands to make her dream come true.
For this money, she lives in a separate deluxe cabin, tastes all the food in the restaurants on the ship and does ballroom dancing in the evenings.
In addition, the pensioner goes to the cinema, to lectures and takes an active part in all the entertainment on offer.
“The crew members make sure that I am always happy. Some of them are already family to me. If they don’t have what I want, they will certainly find it. Even if they have to spend all their time on land during a layover to get it,” she says. On the ship, the retiree is referred to by no other name than “Mama Lee.”
By the way, Mama Lee keeps buying her own outfits. And as far as style is concerned, she’ll give any fashionista a head start. The woman says with gusto that after seeing a hundred countries, she is convinced that Istanbul is the best city for shopping.
“I can’t resist visiting the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. The outfits there are so gorgeous! And they are perfect for ballroom dancing. And when it comes to shopping – I jump ship first,” notes Mama Lee.
