„A millionaire criticizes a mother of three for traveling in business class. But when the pilot announces the arrival of the woman with a special announcement, all complaints disappear. ‚Ugh! Are you serious? Do you really want to bring her here?! Miss, you’d better do something!‘ grumbled Louis Newman as he noticed a mother of three approaching her seats next door with the help of a flight attendant.“
“I’m sorry, sir,” the flight attendant replied kindly, showing him the tickets. “These seats are assigned to Ms. Debbie Brown and her children, and we cannot change that. I ask for your cooperation.” “You don’t understand, miss! I have an important meeting with foreign investors. Your children will be talking and making noise the whole time, and I can’t afford to lose this business!” “Sir…” The stewardess had just started to speak when Debbie interrupted her. “It’s okay. I can sit elsewhere if the other passengers are willing to swap seats with my children and me. It’s not a problem for me.
Absolutely not, ma’am!” the flight attendant responded tersely. “You’re sitting here because you paid for it, and you have the right to be here!” It doesn’t matter whether anyone likes it or not, and sir,” she turned to Louis, “I would appreciate your patience until the end of the flight.” Millionaire Louis Newman was annoyed that the flight attendant had rejected his request, but he was even more irritated that he was forced to sit next to a woman who obviously didn’t belong in business class and who was wearing the cheapest clothes on the plane. He put on his AirPods to avoid having to talk to the woman and turned his face away while she sat next to him, helping her children fasten their seatbelts.
Soon, boarding was complete, the passengers were seated in their assigned places, and the flight took off. It was the first time Debbie and her children were flying in business class, and as the plane ascended, the children began to clap with joy. ‚Mom!‘ his daughter Stacey shouted. ‚Look, we’re finally flying!‘ ‚Yes!‘ Some of the passengers on the plane turned to Stacey and smiled at her innocence, but Louis had a contemptuous expression on his face. ‚Listen,‘ he said, turning to Debbie, ‚Could you please ask your children to be quiet?‘
Since I missed my previous flight, I will arrange the appointment from here.“ „I’m sorry,“ Debbie replied politely, signaling to the children to be quiet. Louis’ meeting lasted for almost the entire flight, and while he was speaking, Debbie noticed that he was a businessman primarily working in the textile industry, as she saw that he frequently mentioned fabrics and had a pattern book. At the end of Louis‘ meeting, Debbie approached him and asked, „May I ask you a question? „Louis didn’t want to talk to her, but since his meeting had gone well and the investors agreed to the deal, he was very satisfied and let his arrogance drop. ‚Um… Yes, sure, go ahead.‘ ‚I saw that you had a book of fabric samples and designs. Are you in the clothing industry?‘ ‚Uh… yeah, you could say that. I own a clothing company in New York. We just closed a deal. I didn’t really expect it to work out, but it did.‘ ‚Oh, that’s nice. Congratulations! Actually, I run a small boutique in Texas.'“
It’s more of a family business. It was founded by my in-laws in New York. We recently opened a branch in Texas. I was really impressed by the designs you presented.“ Louis gave her a sarcastic laugh. „Thank you, madam! But the designs my company produces are different from any local boutique or family-owned boutique.
We’ve hired some of the best designers and just closed a deal with the world’s top design agency! BOUTIQUE, seriously?!” He murmured quite loudly while looking at Debbie mockingly. “Well,” Debbie, feeling humiliated by his comment but remaining calm, replied, “I understand. It must be something very significant for you.” “Something significant?” Louis smiled and shook his head. “A poor woman like you would never understand what that means, but it was a multimillion-dollar deal!” “I’ll ask you again,” he said after a brief pause.
“I mean, I saw your tickets and everything. I know you’re flying with us in business class, but believe me, you don’t look like someone who belongs here! Maybe try economy next time and look for people who have boutiques like yours?” At this point, Debbie’s patience was at its limit. “Listen, sir,” she said sternly.“Understood. I’m flying in business class for the first time, and I found it hard to understand the check-in process and everything else, but don’t you think you’re making it a bit too overwhelming? My husband is on the flight with us, but…” Before Debbie could finish her sentence, an announcement over the loudspeaker announced their arrival at JFK. But instead of turning off the loudspeakers after his announcement, the pilot, Captain Tyler Brown, had more to say. “I would also like to thank all the passengers on this flight, especially my wife Debbie Brown, who is flying with us today.” Debbie, my dear, I can’t tell you how much your support means to me.” Louis’ heart skipped a beat and his face turned red with embarrassment when he realized that Debbie’s husband was the pilot of the flight. “It’s the first time I’m flying in business class, and I was nervous. I thank my wife for reassuring me that everything would be okay, and for coming to calm me down despite her fear of flying.
Today is my first day of work after a long period of unemployment. My wife and I have never had it easy and we’ve gone through many struggles in our lives, but I’ve never heard Debbie complain about her situation. That’s why, on this day—which happens to be the day of our first meeting, a day my wife may have forgotten—I want to propose to her again on this flight. DEBBIE, I LOVE YOU, BABY! “Tyler broke protocol and left the cockpit at that moment to propose to Debbie with a ring on his knee. ‘Will you spend the rest of your life with me, Mrs. Debbie Brown?’ Everyone on the plane now looked at Debbie and her children, who looked like the most beautiful family in the world. As Debbie nodded ‘Yes’ with tears in her eyes, all the passengers applauded, while Louis stood there speechless and embarrassed. But Debbie didn’t let him escape. She walked up to Louis before leaving the plane and said, ‘A materialistic man like you, who only thinks about money, would never understand what it’s like to have loved ones around you. And yes, my husband and I live a modest life, but we are very proud of it!’”
