Orphaned kittens at 3 days of age have little chance of surviving, especially when they are alone outside. Fortunately, the Good Samaritans arrived and the woman devoted herself body and soul to their development.
Not far from the beach of Jacksonville, Florida, a man found four kittens curled up. Their mother unfortunately passed away.
So he posted a call for help on social media, realizing that they needed to be taken care of as soon as possible.
Caitlin, the veterinary nurse, came to pick them up without a moment’s hesitation. “We had to hurry! They were only 2-3 days old and it was not clear how long they had not been fed,” the woman said.
Caitlin placed them in an incubator to keep their body temperature at the same level. In addition, she prepared them a bottle of baby milk for cats. But the children were weak and could not suckle at the breast.
Therefore, the veterinary nurse tube-fed the kittens for 2 days. Scanlan, Percival, Grog, and Vax’ildan then gained strength and began to catch up in growth.
Caitlin spent day and night with her charges. She took them to work to give everyone a bottle every 3 hours. His sleep also suffered greatly, but it was worth it.
In a few weeks, the four assistants have come a long way.
“Watching successfully completed milestones is one of the best parts of parenting orphan animals. They learn a lot from each other, but I also play an important role in their socialization,” Caitlin elaborated.
Scanlan, Percival, Grog and Vax’ildan developed their adventurous spirit. They intended to explore the environment and therefore spent their days entertaining themselves by eating and then sleeping.
