On the night of Sunday, July 24, 2022, the dog was rescued from the sewer, from which she had been without water and food for more than a week. Despite numerous injuries, nothing threatens his life. The veterinary clinic that took care of him announced a fundraiser to help him.
Rescuers in Medford County, New Jersey, United States, successfully pulled a dog named Dylan out of a drainpipe after he was stuck there for 7 days.
The unfortunate 8-year-old boy ran away from his foster family a week earlier. She searched everywhere for the dog, but in vain. But, fortunately, the neighbor heard Dylan barking on Saturday, July 23rd.
However, it was impossible to get him out of hell.
Therefore, the community mobilized to carry out this large scale rescue. Police, firefighters, government officials and electricians in the area fought a long 9-hour fight until Dylan was released Sunday, July 24, 2022 at around 1:00 am.
“They had to dig into the property of a local resident to get to the pipe. Once that stage was complete, they started pounding on him and Dylan was able to make his way to the rescuers,” said Kathleen Tortu-Bowles of the rescue team, before adding:
«I’m going to cry now. It was amazing to see how everyone came together and they worked so hard for a dog they didn’t even know.»
Dylan endured the real test. The poor kid was covered in ticks and had a deep wound on his joint. His legs and elbows were burned by the heat of the chimney. In addition, his temperature rose dangerously to 40 degrees, and he suffered from severe dehydration, not to mention the fact that he was overcome by hunger.
Dylan was subsequently taken to Mount Laurel Animal Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
The Animal Doctors are confident in his recovery, but nonetheless reached out to the community for financial help via social media on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Dylan is also still looking for adoptive parents.
