Brother and sister found their way to happiness. They held on as best they could…

A resident of California (USA) at the beginning of this year found a brood of kittens in her garden. Their mother never came back to take care of them. A volunteer from the association Wrenn Rescues cared for the starving and frozen newborns. One of the babies had only 3 legs.
A kind woman sheltered three kittens abandoned by her mother. Newborn babies risked dying, left to their own devices in the garden. To provide them with the best possible care, this heavenly angel contacted Erin, a volunteer at Wrenn Rescues, an animal shelter located in southern California.

Despite all the attention that was given, one of the kittens, named Pancake, lost the battle a few days after arriving. The two survivors, Waffle and Toast, held on with all their might with the help of their benefactress.

Gradually 2 kittens began to gain weight and regain energy. However, Waffle, a black and white cat, was born without one leg. One could believe that this shortcoming hindered him on the path of life. On the contrary, Waffle showed courage and determination.

Despite his stump, the young cat ventured into his new environment. He even insisted on being fed first! The waffle savored every sip of the mixture and felt happy with a full stomach.

As for her sister Toast, she quickly earned the title of Miss Diva, according to Lovemeow. «She’s stubborn, loud and not afraid to speak her mind,» Erin said, «she wants all the attention.»

The only survivors of their litter, Toast and Waffle, became inseparable. When the kittens were allowed to leave the brooder, they enjoyed playing and cuddling. Strong and healthy, they really began to flourish. Jogging and fun all day long became their favorite pastimes.

The waffle never gave up. He worked hard to move normally, like his peers. Missing one limb doesn’t change anything. Today, Waffle has found a balance and perfected her approach. He behaves like any other domestic feline!
To close this story, we are happy to inform you that the adorable duo have been adopted. At the age of 10 weeks, Toast and Waffle joined their family.

“Their new mom waited a long time for them to be ready and it was worth the wait,” said Erin. »

Have a nice trip Toast and Waffle!
