A Dog With A Sad Past Has Been Desperately Waiting To Be Adopted By His Family For 16 Months

A dog that has never been in contact with humans before being accepted into an association gradually gains confidence. For 16 months he has been desperately waiting for his foster family, with whom he can finally start a new life.

Charlie is a 5 year old dog rescued in January 2021 by the RSPCA from Newport, Wales. The poor animal was locked in a barn along with 44 relatives. None of them had contact with people. A difficult start to the course, which Charlie tries to get over at the orphanage thanks to the benevolence of the guardians. They take the time to socialize him, educate him and help him overcome his fears.

All other dogs were adopted. Charlie waited 16 long months at the RSPCA for his family to give him a chance.

Charlie opens up a little

The RSPCA explained to People that it took 6 weeks before Charlie deigned to show confidence: «When he arrived at our house, he was very withdrawn and did not leave the corner of his kennel.» Over the past 16 months, the dog trainers at the shelter have worked wonders. Charlie gradually gained confidence in himself. There’s still a long way to go, but the cute doggy is already showing off his «smart little personality.» The RSPCA explains: «He loves to run off-leash with all his canine friends.»

Waiting for an owner who will know how to take care of him

The RSPCA is actively looking for hosts for Charlie, who has already lived a sufficient amount of time in kennels. His description mentions that this dog with a difficult past needs an owner who will know how to respond to his features, because he is still shy. You will need a large garden and a quiet environment. Kindred well in his paws would also be a plus. However, what Charlie seeks above all else is the love of home.
