When cared for by an association based in Cottingham in the east of England, the elderly cat named Ethel was in an alarming state of health. Today she feels much better and impresses everyone with her extreme kindness.
Discovered on 1 May by the Cottingham Cat Rescue Team, Ethel, estimated to be 15 years old, was admitted to the veterinary emergency room.
The organization posted pictures of her on their Facebook page, hoping that someone would recognize her, but no one has reported it yet.
On examination, veterinarians suspected rhinitis or a cat cold. They had to quarantine her because the disease spreads easily between felines. The cat also had eye problems and had to take drops several times a day.
Gradually his condition improved. His eyes are better too. At the Cottingham Cat Orphanage, we are all under the spell of this animal of rare tenderness. She has also enticed the volunteers with a particular purr, which she makes especially when she is eating.
We also get the impression that she coos like a dove, much more than she purrs.
The association continues to monitor her condition to see if she can be adopted. Otherwise, Ethel can stay at the shelter for as long as it takes. She will always be welcome with her characteristic purr and gentle temperament.
